Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington 112 (4): 793-803 .

Abstract:

A distinctive new species of the arboreal viper genus Atheris (A. broadleyi) is described from Cameroon, Africa. The new taxon inhabits moist evergreen and semideciduous transition forest in southern Cameroon, Congo, Central African Republic and Gabon. The new species previously has been confused with the widespread A. squamigera, but is distinguished from this species and other congeners by a combination of scale characteristics and a unique color pattern.
